DRHC Lab Accreditation scores 99.8%; new ER Physician joins team, DRHC Wii-nter Olympics wrap up.

A great day here at the DRHC as a trifeca of good news was announced today. The Dryden Laboratory Services completed their Ontario Accreditation inspection and scored a near perfect 99.8%; great work by all the staff down there. We are very proud and not the least bit surprised by this news.

A new full time Emergency Room Physician joined the DRHC today; Dr. Cary Pettinger signed a four year return of service agreement and has purchased a home. The Pettinger’s will be moving to Dryden from Winnipeg and we look forward to helping his family get situated in the community. Dr. Pettinger has been working as a regular locum in Dryden for the past three years and enjoys being on the lakes, golf courses and time with friends that he’s made over the years.

On a slightly less serious note the DRHC Win-ter Olympics wrapped up today. Over the past two weeks lunch hours in the Physio Department have been home to three Wii stations for staff to enjoy winter Olympic activities on. Medals were handed out today and everyone received participation gifts as part of the Workplace Wellness initiative.

And lastly the annual Physician Appreciation event takes place this Saturday at the Dryden Flying Club. Ice fishing derby, flights around the city and surrounding area, snowmachine rides and a catered supper in the club round out a fun afternoon. The forecast calls for sun, lots of fish and fun!

ciao,
