The goal of the Dryden Regional Medical Team is to meet the medical needs of our community through comprehensive care while maintaining personal lifestyles that allow us to enjoy the great opportunities offered by the region.

Physicians are also supported by the local physician group with 2nd on call back up, on call General Surgeon and Anesthetists to help at any time. Typical volume runs b/w 55-60 patients/day with generally lower acuity however our locale on the Trans Canada highway and large geographical catchment area provides a wide scope of scenarios.
Remuneration: July and August all shifts pay at $175/hour as do all Friday, Saturday, Sunday and statutory holiday shifts. Monday to Thursday pays at $145.00 and the scheduling is very flexible with 12 and 24 hour shifts available. For a two year full time Return of Service agreement the position offers a $75,000 signing bonus.
ER Locums: Travel and accommodations are all covered during your time in Dryden. Our recruitment coordinator will meet you at the airport on your first trip in to get you orientated to the community and hospital prior to your shift. For the adventurous type we routinely arrange fly in fishing trips, aerial tours of the region, windsurfing lessons (with all gear provided), sailing, hunting and fishing trips, rock climbing or trail riding. Enjoy complimentary use of the Dryden Recreation Complex and full diplomatic immunity in the DRHC cafeteria (it’s actually pretty good!).
Family Physicians: Roster patients and earn income based on the provincial FHN model. Income guarantee for new physicians allows time to develop your roster and get to know patients. Supplement your earnings with ER work (no third year or fellowship required), surgical assisting, inpatient duty and second on-call supports. Excellent opportunities for training residents and students placed at the DRHC through the Northern Ontario School of Medicine if so inclined.

We have been allocated $115,800 for a four year commitment to full time practice. The DRHC also provides an additional $12,500/year for up to four years to bring the total to $165,800. If your are a 3rd or 4th year medical student or in residency the $12,500 can be made available immediately while the ministry funds flow after first day of employment.
Subsidized Overhead: New physicians to the Dingwall Medical Group/FHT received fixed overhead rates for the first two years that enhance earning potential in excess of $40,000/year. Offices are bright, modern and fully equipped with an examination room on either side of your office. Clinic is adjacent to the DRHC and is efficiently managed with overhead running at approximately 26%.
